对于填空这一科目，词汇是至关重要的！同学们在背单词的时候普遍会关注自己的词汇量以及对单词的熟练程度，却往往忽略对词汇的理解深度。

下面让我们看一下在GRE中需要大家深度理解的几个词汇吧！

Sound

Sound一词的含义很多，在填空中主要考察其作为形容词的两个含义：in good conditions; correct.

“In good conditions”这一含义的汉语翻译可以有很多，比如“安全、健康、完好无损等”。同学们非常熟悉的歌手Taylor Swift有一首歌名字就叫做《safe and sound》。此时，只要记住其核心的英文本质，根据具体的语境进行理解即可。

Correct这一含义是经常被同学们所忽略的。

此时sound表达的是“free from error, fallacy, or misapprehension ”，即“正确、合理”。

Precise & thorough

很多同学看到precise和thorough会斩钉截铁地说出他们的意思“精确准确”和“全面详尽”，并且十分满意于自己对于单词的熟练程度。同学们常常忽略这两个词有一个共同的含义：careful。

Precise在韦氏中有这样一条解释：very careful and exact about the details of something。

Thorough在韦氏中有这样一条解释：careful about doing something in an accurate and exact way : meticulous 。

“careful”这一含义虽然考得不多，但确实还是会在考试中出现。所以同学们也还是要引起警惕哦！
